Actor and six-pack extraordinaire Joe Manganiello will be publishing a fitness book early next year, guiding readers to achieve the “perfect body” and raise their overall quality of life.
It was announced Thursday that Joe Manganiello's Evolution: The Cutting-Edge Guide to Breaking Down Mental Walls and Building the Body You’ve Always Wanted will share the True Blood and Magic Mike star’s secrets, experience and research in the field of diet and exercise. The book is slated for a January 2014 release.
“I wasn’t born this way,” Manganiello said of his physique in a statement announcing the book. “I was the kid in high school who couldn’t do one dip, one pull up ... I was also the kid who never gave up. Through years of blood, sweat, and tears, I cut through all of the myths surrounding every aspect of fitness and training.”
The book includes photos throughout and features Manganiello’s step-by-step workout routine, which combines weights, intense cardio and a high-protein diet.
Manganiello has shown off his fit physique in both TV and film. He currently stars as werewolf Alcide on HBO's True Blood, and he played Big Dick Richie in Steven Soderbergh's 2012 male-stripper movie Magic Mike.
