Oscars 2015: John Legend, Common Perform "Glory" on Bridge Replica (Video)
The two singers turned up the production volume on their oft-performed song on the Dolby Theatre stage.
John Legend and Common brought "Glory" to the Oscars on Sunday with a replica of the historic Edmund Pettus Bridge, as well as a crowd who symbolically walked across it.
The song appears in the Oprah Winfrey-produced film Selma, which tracks the historic march led by Martin Luther King Jr.
Legend stayed seated at the piano at first, before joining Common and the crowd as they walked across the bridge, while archival images were projected behind them. The moving performance brought Selma stars David Oyelowo and Carmen Ejogo to tears, as well as Chris Pine.
Immediately afterward, Legend and Common accepted the original song Oscar.
They were among the night's lineup of musical performances, which also included numbers by Anna Kendrick, Jack Black, Lady Gaga and Jennifer Hudson, as well as Tim McGraw, Rita Ora, Adam Levine, Tegan and Sara, and Lonely Island taking the stage to perform the nominated original songs.
