John Lithgow Joins 'The Accountant'
Ben Affleck is starring in Warner Bros.' thriller.
John Lithgow is joining Ben Affleck in Warner Bros.' thriller The Accountant.
Gavin O’Connor is directing the project, which is in pre-production and will shoot in Atlanta.
Bill Dubuque wrote the 2011 Black List script, which centers on an accountant who moonlights as an assassin. Anna Kendrick, J.K. Simmons and Jeffrey Tambor have also recently joined the cast.
Affleck is playing a mild-mannered accountant and math genius with Asperger's who has a secret job as an assassin. Lithgow will play a robotics engineer whose company is working to change the lives of amputees.
Mark Williams and Lynette Howell are producing the film. Drew Crevello and Jon Gonda are overseeing for the studio.

The Accountant has been shuffling around in development for several years. After a brief period at Sony, the project was put back in turnaround, where Warner Bros. picked it up.
Lithgow, who has won two Tonys and five Emmy Awards over his career, most recently starred in Love Is Strange, The Homesman and Interstellar. He's repped by UTA, Anonymous Content and Hansen, Jacobson.
