John Oliver: How Is Columbus Day Still a Thing?

It's a good question

John Oliver took on Columbus Day and won. The comedian and his Last Week Tonight team produced a segment skewering the holiday about the man who — air quotes here — "discovered America," leaving behind a wake of slavery, violence and warfare along the way.

The clip makes hilarious references to Christopher Columbus' similarity to spring breakers in the Caribbean and points out the importance of rhyming with the words "in 1492."

How is Columbus Day still a thing? We have no idea, John. It is probably why America needs Brits like you to come over here and put everyone in their place.
