"I understand they're in a different place," the actor tweeted on Friday following news that Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen would not be reprising their role as Michelle Tanner on the spinoff series.

Full House fans aren't the only ones who were crushed by the news that Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen won't be returning for Netflix's upcoming spinoff series Fuller House — Uncle Jesse is just as upset.

John Stamos took to Twitter to express his regrets that the Olsen twins wouldn't be reprising their role as Michelle Tanner. After retweeting a Huffington Post article about the news, he wrote, "#heartbroken." A follow-up tweet read: "I understand they're in a different place and I wish them the best. I promise you will not be dissapointed with our reunion and spin off!!"

The actor later posted on Facebook that he was "sad that a few don't share the rest of the cast's opinion" in regards to the Olsen twins not returning for the Full House spinoff and wished them "the best."

Just so you reporters know - this is not a money gig for any of us- quite the opposite - we want to give the fans what they deserve for supporting us for so many years- we all just want to have fun - do it in a classy way on netflix and have a good time- sad that a few don't share the rest of the cast's opinion - i can only wish them the best - JS

Robert L. Boyett, executive producer of the Netflix series, released a statement earlier on Friday stating that the sisters would instead "focus on their fashion brands and various business endeavors." He noted, "Although Ashley and Mary-Kate will not be a part of Fuller House, I know how much Full House has meant to them and they are still very much considered family."

Stamos will appear alongside original castmembers Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin, Andrea Barber and Dave Coulier when the show airs.
