Jonathan Eirich Joins Lin Pictures as President of Film Production
He joined DreamWorks in 2006, most recently serving as senior vp.
Jonathan Eirich is joining Lin Pictures, the company behind the hit Lego Movie, as president of film production.
In his new position, he'll be responsible for overseeing the company’s live-action feature film slate and will report directly to Dan Lin, the head of Lin Pictures.
Eirich most recently served as a senior vp at DreamWorks. He oversaw films including I Am Number Four, the Academy Award-winning hit The Help and Need for Speed. He most recently worked on Steven Spielberg's untitled cold war spy thriller starring Tom Hanks. And he's been working on two projects in development at the studio: Ghost in the Shell starring Scarlett Johansson; and Glimmer with Ringan Ledwidge attached to direct.
Eirich has worked at DreamWorks since 2006, starting out as Stacey Snider's creative assistant. He was on The Hollywood Reporter's Next Gen list in 2011.
“As a studio executive, Jonathan has always had great taste in material and strong filmmaker relationships," said Lin. "Since I made the transition myself seven years ago, I’m excited to help Jonathan transition from studio executive to producer. Together with the Lin Pictures team, we are focused on building an environment in which filmmakers can create their best work."
Lin Pictures, which has a deal at Warner Bros., is producing several hot upcoming films with the studio including the massive Lego franchise including the upcoming Lego Movie 2 and Ninjago. The company's live action projects in development include an adaptation of Stephen King's It with Cary Fukunaga attached to direct, and a live-action adaptation of the animated series Jonny Quest.
