Joseph Ruben to helm 'Jack'
Bold Films to produce the story of a doctor who falls in love with a patientJoseph Ruben has signed on to direct "Jack," a thriller for Bold Films.
Written by David Venable, "Jack" centers on a doctor who rehabilitates and ultimately falls for an accident victim with memory loss. The victim is unaware that he actually is a killer.
Bold Films' Michel Litvak and David Lancaster are producing with Alexandra Milchan and Marc Sternberg.
Bold's Gary Michael Walters is executive producing. Garrick Dion is co-producer.
Casting is under way, with principal photography to begin early in the fall.
Bold's newly created international division, run by worldwide distribution president Stephanie Denton, will launch the sale of the project in Cannes.
Litvak, Walters and Lancaster collaborated on the Golden Globe-nominated ensemble feature "Bobby." They are in post on "Legion," starring Paul Bettany and Dennis Quaid, from Screen Gems as well as "Starship Troopers 3: Marauders," which is being released by Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.
Milchan's most recent credit is "Street Kings," starring Keanu Reeves, while Sternberg's credits include "The Girl Next Door."
Ruben, repped by Paradigm, has made a name for himself in the thriller arena with such movies as "Sleeping With the Enemy," "The Good Son" and "The Forgotten."
