Joseph Slomka Joins FotoKem
He will spearhead the postproduction company's color science management.
Joseph Slomka has been named vice president and principal color scientist at Burbank-headquartered postproduction facility FotoKem.
He previously served as color scientist at Sony Pictures Imageworks for six years, managing the color pipeline for more than 30 features. He was also responsible for production support, digital intermediate technologies, software development, and archival YCM separations.
In his newly created role, Slomka will spearhead FotoKem’s color science management for the facility’s postproduction services, from location work to distribution masters. He will also work with FotoKem affiliated companies Keep Me Posted, Margarita Mix/LA Studios, and SPY.
Slomka’s also collaborating with the Science and Technology Council of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in the development of the Academy Color Encoding Specification (ACES).
