Joss Whedon's 'Much Ado About Nothing' Trailer Features His Favorite Stars (Video)
Frequent Whedon players Amy Acker, Alexis Denisof, Clark Gregg and Nathan Fillion do Shakespeare in the crackling black-and-white adaptation.
From superheroes to Shakespeare, Joss Whedon sure is covering his bases.
The official trailer for Whedon's Much Ado About Nothing, a black-and-white independent film shot at his Santa Monica house, debuted Thursday on the Internet and offered a glimpse at what's to come in his adaptation of the centuries-old play.

Featuring friends and actors with whom Whedon has worked over the years, including Amy Acker, Alexis Denisof, Clark Gregg, Fran Kranz, Sean Maher and Nathan Fillion, Much Ado is set in the modern day with Shakespeare's unchanged words as dialogue. If the preview is any indication, it will be a fast-moving, crackling affair.
The Hollywood Reporter's John DeFore gave Much Ado a glowing review when it premiered in September at the Toronto International Film Festival. "The picture kept the crowd howling and prompted a standing ovation. … But even viewers not enlisted in Whedon's Browncoat cult will find much to like here," DeFore wrote.
Written and directed by Whedon, Much Ado hits theaters in June.
