'Joy' Teaser Trailer: Jennifer Lawrence Fires Gun, Gets Inventive
David O. Russell's latest film, co-starring Bradley Cooper and Robert De Niro, hits theaters on Christmas Day.
Jennifer Lawrence is armed and determined in the teaser trailer for her latest David O. Russell collaboration, Joy.
The movie, which hits theaters Christmas Day, is based on the stories of several powerful women including the inventor of the Miracle Mop, Joy Mangano.
In the trailer, Lawrence's Joy is shown growing up, going to college and getting married over a church bell-filled version of "You Can't Always Get What You Want."
While at home taking care of her kids, she's shown coming up with an invention.
A supercut then reveals production revving up on her new product, as Bradley Cooper's character enters the picture. Then Joy does some fighting, crying and even gets arrested.
The teaser ends with her firing a shotgun and saying, "My name's Joy, by the way."
Robert De Niro, Edgar Ramirez, Virginia Madsen and Isabella Rossellini co-star in the movie from 20th Century Fox and Megan Ellison's Annapurna Pictures. Russell directed and rewrote the script by Bridesmaids writer Annie Mumolo.
The project marks Lawrence, Cooper and De Niro's third project with Russell after Silver Linings Playbook and American Hustle.
