Julianne Moore to Present at Canadian Screen Awards
The Oscar winner also is nominated at Canada's Screenies for her star turn in David Cronenberg's 'Maps to the Stars.'
Fresh from her best actress Oscar win for Still Alice, Julianne Moore is set to present a trophy at the 2015 Canadian Screen Awards on Sunday night in Toronto.
Moore also will vie for the best film actress crown at Canada's Screenies for her role in David Cronenberg's Maps to the Stars. Her performance as a shallow starlet in Cronenberg's Hollywood satire earned Moore the best actress prize at the 67th Cannes Film Festival.
Maps to the Stars goes into the Canadian Screen Awards with 11 nominations and will face off in the best picture, best director and best film actor and actress competitions. The addition of Moore as a Hollywood A-list presenter is a first for the Canadian TV awards show, which follows the Academy Awards and traditionally relies on homegrown talent for star wattage.
Other presenters added to the Canadian Screen Awards include Rookie Blue star Missy Peregrym, Kevin Durand (The Strain), A.J. Cook (Criminal Minds) and Motive's Kristin Lehman. The 2015 Canadian Screen Awards, hosted by Andrea Martin, will be handed out March 1 in Toronto and will air live on the CBC network.
