Juliette Lewis Wears Monique Lhuillier to the 'August: Osage County' L.A. Premiere
The actress wore a punky purple ball gown to her new movie's L.A. premiere.
The Wearer: Juliette Lewis, who is known for her quirky style that is always quite hit-or-miss.
The Event: The Dec. 16 L.A. premiere of Lewis' new film, August: Osage County, which hits theaters Dec. 25.
Why We Dig: As we said above, Lewis — a true ’90s icon whose flannels, acid-washed jeans and short hair helped define the decade's style — can be hit-or-miss on the red carpet. But at the L.A. premiere of her new film (for which co-stars Julia Roberts and Meryl Streep have snagged Golden Globe nods), the actress and sometime punk singer looked perfectly pretty in a regal yet fun gown by L.A.-based bridal behemoth Monique Lhuillier. Lewis is never one to base her look on the status quo, and this dress fits her rebellious spirit, with its uneven hemline and layer of black tulle. It's soft and sculptural but also kind of dark, which makes it totally cool.
