Justin Bieber Deactivates His Instagram Account
"If you guys are really fans you wouldn’t be so mean to people that I like."
He did warn us.
Justin Bieber has gone and deactivated his Instagram account, at least for the time being.
The singer's Instagram disappeared into cyberspace overnight, leaving his millions of followers hanging. Click through to his account, and you're met with the abrupt message, "Sorry, this page is unavailable."
Just days earlier, the Canadian pop musician threatened to make his social media page private due to the harsh messages his fans have dumped on his rumored girlfriend, Sofia Richie.
“I’m gonna make my Instagram private if you guys don’t stop the hate this is getting out of hand,” he posted earlier in the week. “If you guys are really fans you wouldn’t be so mean to people that I like.”
Distraught Beliebers can take comfort in the knowledge that Bieber has said and done some things in the past that he has later retracted. At Christmas time in 2013, he told his Twitter followers he was "officially retiring," something that clearly didn't happen.
Bieber's official Facebook and Twitter accounts are unaffected.
