Justin Timberlake Praises Will Gluck
In a new interview, the singer-turned-actor had nothing but nice things to say about his 'Friends With Benefits' director.
There's a new bromance in Hollywood. And it's thanks to new RomCom Friends With Benefits.
In a new interview with the LA Times, Justin Timberlake couldn't stop gushing about someone he worked with on the film...and it wasn't co-star Mila Kunis.
Instead, the newly-minted movie star was heaping praise on the film's director Will Gluck.
"You feel great being in a movie like this when your director wants you to succeed in every way," said Timberlake, whose derriere makes quite a few appearances in this film. "He wants to see the guys relate to you and the girls fall in love with you."
Though, the star did tell The Hollywood Reporter he wasn't one to look to for relationship tips. "I think it's pretty obvious I should not be giving anybody love advice," he joked to THR at the film's premiere.
As for Gluck, whose style Timberlake compared to a modern-day John Hughes, the actor seems very confident this won't be their last working experience. "We will make plenty of movies together," he said.
Indeed, the director says he was already a fan of the film's stars. "I wanted to do a movie with Justin and Mila, so we redid the script in their voices," he told THR. Adding, "All we wanted to do was make the sex scenes funny, so that’s what drove us. So very early, it stopped being awkward and became all of us trying to squeeze the funny out of it."
The film, which opened at number three at the box office (behind Captain America: The First Avenger and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2), made $34 million in its first weekend.
