Kate Middleton made a public appearance in London on Sunday, but unlike her recent emergence in bold prints (Erdem), burgundy lace (Dolce & Gabbana), bold blue (Christopher Kane) and a silky sheer number (Jenny Packham), her latest look is the most somber yet. It was only appropriate considering she was honoring Britain's war dead during a Remembrance Day Ceremony at Central London's Cenotaph memorial monument.

During the event, the Duchess of Cambridge joined Queen Elizabeth, Prince Harry, the Duke of Edinburgh, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands and her husband, Prince William, in a two-minute silence to pay respect to the nation's fallen soldiers. As she paid tribute, Middleton donned a black bespoke Alexander McQueen double-breast coat that featured three red poppies on the lapel, and paired the look with a matching fascinator.

Before Sunday's ceremony, Middleton stepped out for the Annual Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall where she arrived in a lace, long-sleeve dress by Dolce & Gabbana and classic black pumps.
