Kate Middleton Does Royalty's Version of Dressy Casual for Charity
Notice the ponytail.
Between movie premieres and state dinners, the glamorous life of a post-maternity leave royal person often includes various wardrobe staples like fancy designer dresses plus the occasional tiara. But when it comes to things like charity events, the Duchess of Cambridge manages to find the perfect balance between being dressy, but not too dressy.
While visiting Islington Town Hall to support the charity Chance U.K., a program which mentors young children with behavioral disabilities, Middleton looked perfectly polished in a charcoal gray dress with black floral embellishments by Irish designer Orla Kiely. The 33-year-old also wore the pleated number back in 2012, which just further proves that she is a timeless, magical unicorn.
She finished the ensemble with sensible, short black pumps and tied her long brunette waves back in a practical ponytail for an outfit which is the textbook example of the elusive "dressy casual." Well done.
