Kate Middleton to Visit 'Downton Abbey' Set
The heavily pregnant Duchess of Cambridge — due to give birth in April — will go to Ealing Studios next week.
Her husband recently may have walked down the red carpet for Paddington in China, but Kate Middleton soon will be given a showbiz welcome perhaps more in line with her regal status.
According to a tweet from Kensington Palace, the royal residence of Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge, Middleton will visit the set of Downton Abbey on March 12.
Currently heavily pregnant with her second child, Middleton will not, however, head to Highclere Castle, where most of the "upstairs" scenes involving the Crawleys are filmed, but rather to Ealing Studios in London, where the sets for the kitchen and the bedrooms are located. With season six of the hit series currently being shot, this could help avoid any awkward encounters with Maggie Smith's sharp-tongued Dowager Countess.
Kensington Palace revealed in October that the second royal baby is due in April. The world’s media are expected to once again descend en masse to the steps of the exclusive Lindo Wing of London's St. Mary's Hospital.
