Said SAG-AFTRA foundation president JoBeth Williams: "Kate has been a game changer and role model in our industry, setting a sterling example for all artists and leaders to use their influence to give back to the greater welfare of others."

The SAG-AFTRA Foundation will honor Kate Winslet with its Actors Inspiration Award at the organization's upcoming Patron of the Artists Awards. Should the actress need any insight on what the award means or how to craft the perfect acceptance speech, Winslet could reach out to Titanic co-star and longtime BFF Leonardo DiCaprio, as he was the very first recipient of the trophy.

Scheduled for Nov. 9 at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills, the event will see Winslet take the stage alongside Patron of the Artists Awards honorees including Judd Apatow, Kathryn Bigelow and Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos. Previous Patron of the Artists Awards honorees include Lee Daniels, Megan Ellison and Rob Marshall.

The Oscar winner — seen in such films as The Reader, Steve Jobs, Little Children, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Iris and Sense and Sensibility — will be coming off the release of her latest film, The Mountain Between Us, which is set for and Oct. 6 release. The film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival. (Read THR's review here.) She will also soon star in the Amazon Studios film Wonder Wheel.

In addition to her enviable resume, the veteran actress is being honored by the SAG-AFTRA Foundation for her commitment to causes like her own Golden Hat Foundation, working for children with autism and their families, and regional charities in the U.K. such as Cardboard Citizens, which aids at-risk and homeless individuals, according to the organization.

Said SAG-AFTRA foundation president JoBeth Williams: "Kate has been a game changer and role model in our industry, setting a sterling example for all artists and leaders to use their influence to give back to the greater welfare of others. We look forward to presenting her with this award for all she has accomplished, and all she has given back."
