Katherine Rowe, who has spent the last five years at Slate PR, has joined Shelter PR as senior vice president.

Rowe, who worked closely with Slate founder and PR veteran Simon Halls, will begin working out of Shelter’s New York offices June 1 and remain bi-coastal.

Rowe's client list, including Kurt Sutter, Dan Stevens, Eli Roth, Justin Lin and his Perfect Storm Entertainment, David Goyer, Julie Taymor, and Alan Cumming, among others, are set to join her.

Rowe started her career at ID-PR where she worked with such clients as Christopher Nolan, Jason Reitman and Lee Daniels. At Slate, which she joined right after its inception, she worked with Halls on the publicity campaigns for such high-profile movies as Ridley Scott’s Prometheus and Ang Lee’s Life of Pi. She also worked with directors Brett Ratner, Sam Mendes and Gore Verbinski as she ran the company's New York outpost.

“While it’s always sad when someone leaves your company to move on to a new career opportunity, I am very proud of Katherine and excited for all that lies ahead for her,” said Halls. “It’s been a real pleasure watching her develop into one of the best PR practitioners in the business. Her intelligence, judgment and taste are all top notch and the folks at Shelter are very lucky that she is joining their team.”

Said Shelter founders Marla Farrell and Cara and Christine Tripicchio jointly: “We are thrilled Katherine is joining the Shelter PR team. She will be a valuable asset to the company as demonstrated by her great taste in talent and her wealth of experience in the representation of her clients in film, television and theater. We are excited to expand the company with such a highly respected professional as Katherine."

Shelter was founded only nine months ago by the longtime PR executive trio. The company, which operates in Los Angeles and New York, has a client list that includes Steve Carell, Tina Fey, Shailene Woodley, Rooney Mara, Hilary Swank, Hailee Steinfeld, Rose Byrne, Jason Bateman, Chris Cooper and Theo James, among others.
