Katie Holmes Broadway Show Releases Preview Teaser (Video)
The actress, called "a multi-layered, very sophisticated young woman" by her director, stars in a new comedy by the creator of "Smash."
For Katie Holmes, the show must -- and is -- going on.
The actress is staying in her adopted home of New York City to star in the opening run of the new Broadway play Dead Accounts, a comedy from Theresa Rebeck, the creator and former head-writer of the NBC musical series, Smash. She plays Lorna, the sister of a con-man played by two-time Tony winner for Best Actor in a Musical, Norbert Leo Butz, and the two display some fantastic chemistry (if not balance) in the first video preview of the show posted online.

Director Jack O'Brien, himself a three-time Tony winner, raves about both of his stars, calling Holmes "a multi-layered, very sophisticated young woman," with whom he is very excited to work.
The show opens at the Music Box Theater on November 29, with previews starting on Nov. 3. The show is described as the "story of a brother, a sister, and a surprise reunion that turns their family upside down. A $27 million secret proves that the truth can be complicated."
