Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom Accessorized With Tamagotchis at the Met Gala
That's one way to interpret the tech-inspired theme.
Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom may have hit the carpet separately at Monday night's Met Gala, but they still managed to find a way to flaunt their new relationship at fashion's biggest night of the year.
Their common connection? Tamagotchi pets dangling from their Prada ensembles. Yes, Tamagotchis — those digital pets that many a millennial owned (and killed, probably) that live in the egg-shaped device dangling from a key ring.
The decision to sport the toy — er, pet — was likely a nod to the gala's theme: "Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology."
The matchy move is the first major public declaration of the couple's budding relationship. Because nothing says "official" like the mutual commitment to tiny digital animals.
One thing's for sure, however: Those Tamagotchis definitely have the coolest parents in town.
