Katy Perry's Super Bowl Halftime Look: What We Know, So Far
Costume changes? For sure. Buckets of bling? Duh. And as the pop star says, "It's going to be flaming-hot."
In case you haven't heard, Katy Perry is performing at Sunday's Super Bowl. So what does she have in store for the biggest performance of her life? Let's start with the fashion and beauty basics.
Moschino designer and bestie Jeremy Scott will be the brainchild behind creating multiple costumes for the 12-and-a-half minute performance. When asked about the wardrobe at Thursday's Super Bowl press conference, Perry noted that the audience will not be disappointed. "All I'll say about my opening costume is that it's going to be flaming-hot — not the Cheeto." If we know anything about Perry's fashion sense and Scott's past designs, the costumes are sure to be uber colorful, playful and probably a little cheeky.
Johnny Wujek, longtime stylist (and No. 19 on THR's Top 25 Power Stylists list), will be outfitting the pop star. According to Billboard, there's even a woman whose sole purpose is to "add bling" to costumes. Damn.
As we anticipate what she'll wear onstage, there's one thing we know for sure: The show is bound to be entertaining. "It's simple," Perry told Billboard. "I want the show to be quintessential Katy. It's like the exclamation point on the whole last cycle. This is the cherry on top of everything I've already done."
