Kellyanne Conway Dresses Like Court Jester for Inauguration
Trump's senior advisor made a head-scratching $3600 fashion statement.
In one of the day's more head-scratching moments so far, President-elect Donald Trump's senior advisor Kellyanne Conway stepped out for the Inauguration festivities in a striking red, white and blue outfit that prompted immediate ridicule across social media.
It's a $3600 navy-and-white, military-inspired A-line coat with brass buttons by Gucci by Alessandro Michele, one of the hottest fashion labels of the moment. Hat tip to Conway for finding the festive piece, but where she erred was in the extras; she topped off the coat with a cloche hat and gloves in slightly mismatched shades of red. Too cute, too much. Some compared the look to the Nutcracker, others to Hot Dog on a Stick. There's no doubt, the Saturday Night Live costume department is already stitching one up.
While unabashedly patriotic, the choice is not subtle, and one wonders if she worried at all about upstaging the First Family in the wardrobe department. First lady Melania Trump chose a pale sky blue Ralph Lauren dress and jacket.
Reactions to Kellyanne's fashion statement on social media were swift — and brutal.

There aren't a lot of nice things I can say about Kellyanne Conway but one is I think she would have made a better Javert than Russell Crowe pic.twitter.com/AyEVSZNwDP— Michelle Collins (@michcoll) January 20, 2017
