Ken Jeong Joining CBS Films' 'The DUFF'
Ken Jeong is in final negotiations to join The DUFF, a teen comedy from CBS Films.
Ari Sandel is directing the adaptation of the Kody Keplinger YA novel being produced by McG and Mary Viola of Wonderland Sound and Vision.
Mae Whitman is starring in DUFF, which centers on Bianca (Whitman), an off-beat honor roll student who discovers she is considered the DUFF -- designated ugly fat friend. She then enlists the help of her neighbor, a jock, to become less socially awkward so she can ask her longtime crush on a date.
Bella Thorne is also already cast in the movie, which is set to shoot in Atlanta in late May.
Jeong will play one of Bianca’s teachers.
Jeong is one of the stars of NBC's recently canceled cult comedy Community and was the breakout star of The Hangover movies. He is repped by CAA and Alignment Entertainment.
