Kenneth Estenson to run CNN.com

Replacing David Payne, who left several months ago

NEW YORK -- CNN has lured Disney-ABC Cable Networks Group senior vp digital media Kenneth "KC" Estenson to run CNN.com.

Estenson will become senior vp, general manager of the Atlanta-based CNN.com beginning Sept. 2. He will report to Susan Grant, executive vp CNN News Services.

"KC is the person to lead us to innovate in new, exciting and impactful ways, not only because of his impressive success in building and growing digital businesses but also because of his passion and enthusiasm, superb operational insight and people skills and hunger to guide others as well as learn from them," Grant said.

He will replace David Payne, who left CNN.com several months ago.

Since joining Disney in 2001, Estenson has been instrumental in developing digital media products and their distribution, international television distribution strategy and ABC News Now. He was responsible for digital media units for Disney's cable networks, including Disney Channel Worldwide, SOAPnet and ABC Family.
