Kevin Hart Talks Working With Dwayne Johnson, Shares Advice for Aspiring Comedians: "Don't Be a Talker, Be a Doer"
"He's a positive guy that wants to see good for people," Hart tells THR of his 'Central Intelligence' co-star. "When you find yourself with a person like that, that attitude becomes contagious, and together, you spread a lot of that positive energy."
Kevin Hart got candid with fans during a Facebook Live Q&A with The Hollywood Reporter that touched on everything from his favorite brand of cereal, the best prank he's ever pulled and his honest thoughts about working with Central Intelligence co-star Dwayne Johnson.
"It's awful! I've never seen an attitude so high and uppity," he joked before saying, "D.J. is one of the best guys in the world. He's a friend/brother now. We're doing great things together."
Hart added, "More importantly, he's a positive guy that wants to see good for people. I'm the same, man. We believe in love, we believe in laughter, and we believe in living right. When you find yourself with a person like that, that attitude becomes contagious, and together, you spread a lot of that positive energy. That's what we've done."
He also offered words of wisdom for fans interested in getting into comedy. His best advice? Be yourself.
"A lot of people want to get into comedy and talk about it, but you don't realize the first step to getting into comedy is actually going to do it," said Hart. "You can't do things that you don’t put actions behind. So sit down, take a piece of paper, write out your thoughts and then go to an amateur night and try them. If it doesn’t go well, see what worked, what didn’t work and go back and try it again. But don't be a talker, be a doer."
