The Australian boy band is nominated for favorite new artist at the fan-voted awards show.

Where else could an Australian boy band and 2000 gallons of slime share a stage, other than the Kids' Choice Awards?

5 Seconds of Summer performed their hit "What I Like About You" — a cover the The Romantics' classic rock song — while surrounded by giant stacks of boxes that oozed slime. At the end of their performance, bandmembers Luke Hemmings, Michael Clifford, Calum Hood and Ashton Irwin were covered with the green goo, which was blasted from cannons behind them.

5 Seconds of Summer was nominated for favorite new artist at the fan-voted awards show, but lost the orange blimp to girl group Fifth Harmony.

Nick Jonas hosts the 28th annual Kids' Choice Awards, which is being broadcast live on Nickelodeon from The Forum in Inglewood, Calif.
