Kids' Choice Awards: Zendaya Thanks Parents for "Allowing Me to Be a Role Model for Your Children"
The Disney actress took home the award for favorite female TV star in a kids' show at the Nickelodeon ceremony on Saturday evening.
Zendaya gave an uplifting message to parents and kids around the world while accepting the award for favorite female TV star in a kids' show at the 2016 Kids' Choice Awards on Saturday evening.
"This is so beautiful," the young actress, who won the orange blimp for her performance on the Disney Channel series K.C. Undercover, began her speech at the podium. "This means so, so much to me. I've been doing this for a long time, and I do it for you guys. I just want you to know that doing and making positive programming for young people is so important to me, and I will keep doing it," she said, before giving a shout-out to the parents of her young fans.
"To all the parents out there, thank you for allowing me to be a role model for your children. I really, really do not take that for granted," said Zendaya.
The 29th annual slime-infused ceremony took place at the Forum in Inglewood, Calif.
