Momentum Pictures has picked up the U.S. rights to Forsaken, a Western starring Kiefer Sutherland and Donald Sutherland.

The deal happened ahead of the movie’s world premiere on September 16, 2015 at TIFF.

"We have seen great success with westerns in the past and are excited to have a film of this caliber on our release slate," said Momentum president Berry Meyerowitz. "It’s the first time this father-son acting duo has starred in a feature film together, so we look forward to bringing the movie to U.S. audiences."

The movie tells of a retired gunslinger who returns to his hometown in the hopes of repairing his relationship with his father. But the town is being terrorized by a gang with ties to a railroad concern and it seems like only the gunslinger can stop them. But the father does not want his son to return to a life of violence.

Brian Cox, Michael Wincott, Greg Ellis and Aaron Poole also star.

The movie was directed by Jon Cassar, who also worked with Kiefer Sutherland on the blockbuster television series 24.

Forsaken is a co-production between Panacea Entertainment and Minds Eye Entertainment. It was shot entirely on location at the CL Ranch near Cochrane, Alberta.
