‘The Killing’ Scares up Sales At MIPCOM
Scandinavian crime drama sells worldwide, ZDF Enterprises also inks deals for new Nordic thrillers “The Bridge” and “Sebastian Bergmann.”
CANNES – Danish crime drama The Killing made one at MIPCOM, with German sales outfit ZDF Enterprises closing multiple territory deals for the BAFTA-Award winning series. Licensing deals signed included ones with the BBC, SBS Australia, AXN in Spain, Russia’s Channel 1 and KLB in France. The Danish series is the basis for AMC’s Emmy-nominated show of the same name.
ZDF also sold two new Nordic crime shows to BBC Four in the U.K.: the 10 part investigative drama The Bridge and the cop thriller Sebastian Bergman, which consists of two TV movies focused on a bull-headed and politically incorrect police profiler, played by Swedish star Rolf Lassgard (Wallander).
