Kim Kardashian, Kanye West to Wed on May 24 in Florence, Italy (Report)
After speculation that they were going to tie the knot in Paris, the power couple will marry in a historical Italian fort, according to Florence city officials.
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West will marry in Florence, Italy, on May 24.
The power couple will tie the knot in the 16th century Belvedere Fort, a spokeswoman at the Florence mayor's office told the Associated Press.
The couple rented the fort, located next to Florence's famed Boboli Gardens, for €300,000 ($410,000), said Elisa Di Lupo, and a Protestant minister will preside over the ceremony.
"I love Florence, I love Italy and the Italian lifestyle," West told Florence's La Nazione newspaper on Friday. "And I think we conceived our daughter North here, among the masterpieces of the Renaissance. It was our first honeymoon."
It had been previously speculated that North's parents would wed in Paris, France, or in Versailles (thanks to James Franco's unintentional tip), however, it has now been reported that guests will first enjoy a lavish wedding weekend in Paris before heading to Florence for the ceremony.
Kanye, 36, proposed to Kim on her 33rd birthday in October after renting out AT&T Park in San Francisco to make a grand statement. Their daughter will turn one on June 15.
It will be the first marriage for West, who was previously engaged to designer Alexis Phifer, and the third for Kardashian, following her 72-day marriage to Kris Humphries in 2011 and a three-year marriage to producer Damon Thomas that ended in 2003.
The Hollywood Reporter has reached out to representatives for Kardashian and West for comment.
