Kim Kardashian Had No Idea Kanye West Wanted to Be President
"That's a big thing to not talk to your wife about."
In 10 years, we'll all look back and think, "I remember exactly where I was when I heard Kanye West was running for president." If you — like the thousands of other viewers who tuned in to see if Miley Cyrus' hosting gig would take a turn for the catastrophic — were watching the VMAs, then you witnessed the now-infamous speech live at the Microsoft Theater.
Well, as it turns out, that's how Kim Kardashian will remember the moment she found out, too. When Ellen DeGeneres asked the expectant mother whether she was aware of Yeezy's announcement "plan" (or lack thereof), she replied, "I did not. That was news to me."
She elaborated, noting that his hope to eventually move the family to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., was "never a discussion in our household."
"I don't know if that announcement was planned or if he came up with that idea right then and there," she admitted, adding that though his announcement may have been spontaneous, he's definitely "serious" now.
But despite their communication mishap, Kardashian maintained that she'll be supportive of her husband. "If he puts his mind to something, he'll do his best."
