Has Texas football gone Hollywood?
New Texas Tech head coach Kliff Kingsbury turned heads when he made his national TV debut in his job – with viewers commenting via Twitter on his likeness to Ryan Gosling. As USA Today pointed out, both men played football (cue Gosling's Remember the Titans role) and both, clearly, look good in sunglasses.
Kingsbury, 34, played quarterback for Texas Tech from 1999-2002. Before taking over as head coach for the Red Raiders, he coached Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel at cross-state rival Texas A&M as offensive coordinator.
Since Texas Tech's 20-10 win over Texas Christian University Thursday, Twitter has been lighting up with comparisons between Kingsbury and Gosling, and odes to the dreamy coach – with a number of women tweeting a newfound interest in Texas Tech football.
As for Kingsbury, he tweeted simply: "Now THAT is the Jones stadium I remember. Welcome back. We have the best students in America.
