Knightscove, Entertainment One to Co-Develop 'Port Hope' Family TV Drama
'It is our hope that "Port Hope" becomes the first in a group of creative projects that we will undertake,' exec says.
TORONTO -- Canadian production company Knightscove Media Corp. has pacted with Entertainment One Television to jointly develop Port Hope, a family TV series.
The one-hour drama was created by Knightscove topper Leif Bristow and Canadian TV writer Heather Conkie (Heartland) and portrays the Gilberts, a family living on an old farm on the outskirts of Port Hope.
The family drama will feature the clan as owners of the Mud Lake animal sanctuary and caregivers for their own and adopted children.
Entertainment One has greatly expanded its TV production arm, with popular series like ABC/Global Television’s Rookie Blue, HBO’s Hung and Syfy’s Haven.
"It is our hope that Port Hope becomes the first in a group of creative projects that we will undertake between the companies," Bristow said Monday.
