KOFIC holds 'Ko-Production in Shanghai'
Promotes collaboration between two countries' filmmakersSEOUL – “Ko-Production in Shanghai 2010” will be held during the film market for the Shanghai International Film Festival June 14-16.
“Ko-Production” is a new program by the Korean Film Council to encourage Korean directors and producers to find international financiers or production partners through film markets. In Shanghai, the council will facilitate pitching sessions of Korean film companies with Chinese producers and investors.
“The film industry in China is rapidly growing since 2001 when the country joined as a member in WTO,” said Park Hee-sung, the council’s official in international business.
Twelve sales and post-production companies from Korea are participating in this year's film market. About 60 business meetings have been registered between Korean and Chinese film companies, according to the council.
