Kristen Bell, Dax Shepard Lip Sync to Toto in "Africa" Music Video
"Our sole objective was to rage hard and honor Toto properly."
Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard take their vacation documentation seriously. While on a trip to Tanzania and Rwanda the couple made a music video entitled "Dax and Kristen do Africa."
Shepard and Bell lip sync to Toto's "Africa" in the homemade video, which they released on Jan. 27, years after they filmed it.
"This was our last trip before having kids," Shepard wrote in the YouTube description. Their first child, Lincoln, was born in March 2013. "Our sole objective was to rage hard and honor Toto properly. Hope you enjoy."
The two actors dance in the rain, chase giraffes, rock out on air flutes and get as silly as possible with the backdrop of lions, hippos, zebras, elephants and gorillas behind them.
Bell tweeted the video out on Wednesday and said, "It's the best project I've ever been a part of." She also responded to fans' questions about where they shot the footage.
Back in 2012, Bell and Shepard told Jimmy Kimmel about their plans to make a music video of their safari. Shepard also revealed they were fined for dancing with the animals.
“We wanted to see the wildebeest migrate so we had driven five hours in the car. We finally got to them on the Serengeti, we got out of the car (and) we started doing a dance for this music video," Shepard said, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. "We weren’t paying attention and then the Serengeti police showed up and they fined us $50 for dancing at the Serengeti.”
