Michael Cavallari was reported missing on Nov. 27 after his abandoned car was discovered in Utah.

Michael Cavallari, brother of actress Kristin Cavallari, was arrested just days before his disappearance after a car crash in Utah.

The Orange County Sheriff's Department confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that Michael Cavallari, 30, was arrested for "suspicious behavior" in Orange County on Tuesday, Nov. 24.

Four days later, on Friday, Nov. 27, Cavallari was reported missing after a rancher in Utah spotted his car roughly 100 feet off of Interstate 70. The 2014 Honda Civic had hit a large rock and the airbags had been employed. The car was still running, and Cavallari's cell phone and laptop were inside but there was no sign of the driver.

Grand County Sheriff Steven White previously told THR that ground sweepers and helicopters had covered the area extensively, but unfortunately the ground had frozen, which made tracking difficult. "There are really no signs of anything," White said. "The vehicle was just abandoned."

Cavallari's family speculated that he might have been on his way to Chicago to visit his sister Kristin and her husband, Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler, who welcomed their third child on Nov. 23 — the day before Cavallari's arrest in Orange County, and five days before his disappearance.

The Orange County Sheriff's Department confirmed that Cavallari was also arrested for DUI in 2014 and received three years' probation.
