Kristin Scott Thomas headed for 'Nowhere'
Joins cast as John Lennon's tough-talking aunt MimiLONDON -- Kristin Scott Thomas has joined the cast of the John Lennon biopic "Nowhere Boy."
Producers said Friday that Scott Thomas will play Lennon's tough-talking Aunt Mimi, who played a major role in bringing up the rock icon.
Anne-Marie Duff will play his mother, Julia, while newcomer Aaron Johnson will play the young Lennon in the Ecosse Films production.
The project details the young life and rise to stardom of the Beatle and marks the directorial debut of artist Sam Taylor-Wood.
Sales house HanWay Films has presold "Nowhere" to Icon for the U.K. and Australia and to Mars Distribution in France.
The film is scheduled to shoot in March on location in Liverpool and at Ealing Studios. It's backed by Film4, the U.K. Film Council's Premiere Fund, NorthWest Vision and Media, Lip Sync Prods. and Aver Media.
The script was developed with the support of the U.K. Film Council's Development Fund.
