KTLA anchor Lu Parker was arrested at LAX on Wednesday on suspicion of theft, police tell The Hollywood Reporter.

The alleged incident occurred around 7:03 a.m. after police were notified of lost property at the TSA screening area in Terminal 6. An investigation into the matter revealed that a theft had occurred, police said.

Frances Louise Parker, who goes by Lu, 48, a former Miss USA pageant queen, was located and allegedly had the stolen property — a pair of earbuds for music — on her person, police said. She was arrested on suspicion of petty theft and booked at the LAPD's Pacific Division Jail.

The news station contended that the incident was a misunderstanding.

"Earlier today Lu Parker was traveling to tend to her father who is ill. After going through the security line at LAX, Lu noticed earbuds were left behind. She picked them up intending to return them to the owner whom she had been speaking with while in line to clear TSA," the KTLA statement read.

It continued: "When she was unable to locate the owner, Lu boarded her flight. We believe this is a misunderstanding, Lu is cooperating fully with the authorities and we are confident she will be able to clear this all up."

Parker won Miss USA in 1994, representing South Carolina. She also famously dated former Los Angeles m=Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa.
