Kyle Bornheimer Cast in Jack Black's 'The D-Train' (Exclusive)
The "Family Tools" star will play a high school friend of Black and James Marsden's characters in the New Orleans-shot indie comedy.
Kyle Bornheimer is boarding The D-Train.
The Family Tools star has been cast opposite Jack Black and James Marsden in the low-budget comedy being produced by Mike White’s Rip Cord Productions, Black’s Electric Dynamite and Ealing Studios.
D-Train centers on a Middle America high school reunion committee chairman (Black), still searching for high school acceptance, who has to do whatever it takes to get the most popular guy from high school -- now a failed actor working in commercials (Marsden) -- to show up to their 20-year reunion. Bornheimer will play Randy, a high school friend of both characters.
The indie, which is shooting in New Orleans, marks the directorial debut of Jarrad Paul and Andrew Mogel, the writers of the 2008 Jim Carrey comedy Yes Man and co-creators, with Jonah Hill, of the short-lived cartoon Allen Gregory.
The news comes as Bornheimer is half-way through a guest arc on Fox comedy Brooklyn Nine-Nine. The actor, whose other film credits include She’s Out of My League, You Again and Bachelorette, is repped by CAA and Evolution.
