Watch Kyle Chandler Reprise His Coach Taylor Role for "Don't Talk" Theater PSA
"Turn your goddamn cellphones off," says the 'Friday Night Lights' alum.
Clear eyes, full hearts, will lose — if you're talking while watching a movie at an Alamo Drafthouse theater.
In a new PSA for the Texas-based theater chain, Kyle Chandler reprises his role as Friday Night Lights' Coach Eric Taylor to tell moviegoers to stop talking and being on their phones while a movie plays.
In FNL-style, the PSA begins with footage of weights, Texas and American flags and Coach Taylor giving a pep talk to bench-sitters in the locker room.
"Listen up, this is it. This is it. This is what we've all worked for. We've paid to be here," he begins, sporting his signature royal blue polo shirt and baseball cap.
"I want you to know, your friends and your family are going to be watching every second. They're going to be with you every moment of this. So let's do it for them. Let's do it for each other. And let's make sure that we have some pride," he says before the people in front of him begin talking and looking at their phones.
Taylor asks the group to stop talking, put their phones down and listen up. "Listen, how am I going to give my inspirational speech here if you're talking and you're texting? C'mon now!" he yells. "Clear eyes, full hearts," he says, angrily taking off his baseball cap.
"Turn your goddamn cellphones off," he scolds directly to the camera.
The one-minute, 15-second video signs off with, "You talk and text. You ruin Coach's speech. We punt you out of the theater."
