'Lady Bird' Trailer: Saoirse Ronan Stars in Greta Gerwig's Directorial Debut
The 'Brooklyn' actress plays a young woman who fights against, but is exactly like, her wildly loving, deeply opinionated and strong-willed mom (Laurie Metcalf).
A24 has released the trailer for Lady Bird, hot off its critically acclaimed unveiling at the Telluride Film Festival.
Frances Ha and 20th Century Women actress Greta Gerwig makes her directorial debut with the semiautobiographical comedy, which is set in Sacramento, Calif., in 2002, amidst a rapidly shifting American economic landscape. It stars Brooklyn Oscar nominee Saoirse Ronan as the titular young woman who fights against, but is exactly like, her wildly loving, deeply opinionated and strong-willed mom (Laurie Metcalf), a nurse working tirelessly to keep her family afloat after the family patriarch (Tracy Letts) loses his job. Lucas Hedges and Timothee Chalamet are also featured in the cast.
Lady Bird hits theaters Nov. 10, after screening at both the Toronto Film Festival and the New York Film Festival.
