Landmark Theatres has promoted head film buyer Ted Mundorff to COO. The veteran exhibition executive will oversee all theater operations for the circuit in addition to the film buying and advertising responsibilities he has held as senior vp film and advertising.

During his four years as head film buyer, Mundorff has been responsible for buying films nationwide and helped create unique distribution and marketing opportunities for independent releases. He also oversees Landmark's advertising department, which designs and places ads with both national and local print and online outlets for numerous independent distributors.

Mundorff, a 20-year exhibition executive who most recently worked at Pacific Theatres, also has been involved in Landmark's real estate expansion, working on the upcoming Westside Pavilion theater in Los Angeles, Landmark's Harbor East in Baltimore and an upcoming Denver location.
