ALCOVE CAFE

The eatery boasts an all-day breakfast menu and ivy-clad patio where actress Sasha Grey and her dog MacReady are regulars. Says Grey, "My 85-pound Doberman pinscher isn't welcome at too many cafes, but I've never had a problem at Alcove, despite the 'under 30 pounds' rule."

AMMO

On weekends, celebs and their dogs -- like Jake Gyllenhaal and his German shepherd, Atticus Finch -- enjoy the enclosed patio at the power lunch spot, a favorite of Shine America CEO Rich Ross.

CAT & FIDDLE

Nestled in a Hollywood courtyard, this English restaurant and pub is where Russell Brand and Morrissey come for a proper pint. The lunchtime crowd sits on the wisteria-covered patio with man's best friend, who can dine from a special dog menu with items like grilled filet with rice.

CHATEAU MARMONT

The hotel's restaurant spans a see-and-be-seen patio shaded with palm trees. Jokes regular Shane Scheel, co-founder of theatrical production company Ad Astra Live, "My dog, Howard, is trying to sleep his way to the top, and a hotel bar is clearly the most convenient way to meet 'bitches.' "

HUGO'S

West Hollywood's breakfast and lunch crowd fills up on vegan and gluten-free options at this neighborhood fixture with a pet-friendly patio. Says actress Katie Cleary, founder of nonprofit Peace 4 Animals, "My pups love going with me on the weekends to relax on the patio." Eva Mendes also has been known to dine there with her dog, aptly named Hugo.

JOAN'S ON THIRD

L.A'.s quintessential people-watching patio is one of the most dog-friendly. Says Ginifer King of Nickelodeon's The Haunted Hathaways, "Heaven is a Saturday brunch at Joan's with my sidekick Wrigley." Amanda Seyfried and her dog, Finn, have dined on sandwiches there.

MAURO'S CAFE AT FRED SEGAL

This retail mecca is where Naomi Watts and Amber Heard and their Yorkies shop, then refuel (the humans) with gluten-free pasta. And what's on the menu for four-legged diners? Says owner Evelyne Joan, "We have customers who've been known to order a side of chicken for their dogs."

RAY'S AND STARK BAR

LACMA's alfresco bar feeds execs from nearby E! Entertainment and, soon, the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures. Dogs are allowed on leash and are provided with bowls and a water menu. 5905 Wilshire Blvd.
