L.A.'s Runyon Canyon Park to Close Through July
Los Angeles City Councilmember David Ryu says the park will close from April to July for pipe replacement work.
Runyon Canyon Park will officially close for three months starting this April, Los Angeles city councilmember David Ryu stated on Wednesday.
The park is closing for pipe replacement work, which aims to provide better water quality and an improved fire protection system for the area by upgrading one mile of pipe through the park.
Hiking trails will be closed to the public throughout the project, named The Runyon Canyon Water System Improvement Project, but the Runyon Canyon Park Yoga Field will remain open through the summer.
The project was introduced jointly on Wednesday by Councilmember Ryu, the LADWP, Department of Recreation and Parks, Los Angeles Fire Department and Friends of Runyon Canyon.
