The "Everything is Everything" singer earlier appeared at the LA Rising Festival on July 29, fueling speculation that she would be among the musicians at the annual hip-hop festival.
When Lauryn Hill welcomed a bouncing baby boy on July 23, many fans wished the singer would expand her musical contributions in addition to her family.
Hill may not be hitting the studio, but she did hit the stage for the Rock the Bells festival on Saturday in San Bernadino, California. The "Everything is Everything" singer earlier appeared at the LA Rising Festival on July 29 (pictured above), fueling speculation that she would be among performers at the annual hip-hop festival.
Hill joined hip-hop heavyweights including Common, Nas and Erykah Badu, as well as crowd pleasing Wu Tang Clan, Black Moon, Souls of Mischief and Mobb Deep, at the San Manual Amphitheatre. According to MTV, nearly 40,000 fans were in attendance.
The former Fugees frontwoman closed out the show with hits from her 1998 classic, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, including “Doo Wop (That Thing),” “Lost Ones,” “Ex-Factor” and “To Zion.” Watch fan-shot videos from the performance below.
The show marks Hill's first performance since giving birth to her sixth child earlier this summer. Speculation has swirled regarding the identity of the child’s father, as longtime beau and father to her elder children, Rohan Marley, has denied paternity.
In a statement released after the birth, Hill wrote: “Mr. Marley did not abandon me while pregnant with his child. We have had long periods of separation over the years but our 5 children together remain a joy to both of us. Thank you for your concern and I appreciate all of the well wishes regarding the birth of my new son.”
