Lawrence and Bobby Meyers Form New Sales and Production Company
International sales veterans Lawrence Meyers and Bobby Meyers have launched Meyers Media Group to do global film sales and production. Lawrence Meyers is president and Bobby Meyers serves as a consultant.
Randy Dannenberg, formerly of Media 8 Entertainment, has been named executive vp and will oversee production and acquisitions. Former ICM International head Peter Rowley has come on board as vp international distribution and administration.
"We believe that our expertise can help our partners, not only in the foreign sales process but in helping them complete their films," said Lawrence Myers, "utilizing international co-productions as well as bringing in equity."

He's has been in the motion picture business for 35 years, serving in various executive capacities at companies such as Lorimar Productions, New World Pictures, Morgan Creek and Trilogy Entertainment Group. Meyers’ producer credits include Unfaithful, American Haunting and Hugo Pool.
Bobby Meyers has worked at companies including Columbia Pictures, Orion Pictures, Lorimar and Village Roadshow. He was a founder of the American Film Marketing Association (now IFTA) and was its chairman the first two years.
They will make their first official appearane at the European Film Market in Berlin. Their initial slate includes:
Midnight Sun — Inspired by true events, two young scientists are recruited in the 1940s by the U.S. government from Columbia University to work on a top-secret project in New Mexico later be known as the Manhattan project. Chris Eigeman (Turn the River) wrote the script and will direct. Producers are Eric Morris (Say Uncle) and Ben Smith (The Bourne Legacy). Julianne Hausler is the executive producer. The project received a grant from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation.
7 Red — A crook who now works for a casino is sent to track a mystery woman who has been busting roulette tables across the country on seemingly impossible single-number bets. Producers are Mace Neufeld (Hunt for Red Hunter, Invictus) and Robyn Shwer of Mace Neufeld Productions and Eryl Cochran and Branon Coluccio.
Rider — Pascal Franchot (Triple Dog, Milo) directs a futuristic action thriller where opposing factions battle for survival in a post apocalyptic world set against a love story. Producers are Arnold Rifkin (Hostage, 16 Blocks), Damon Martin (Freakonomics, Another Happy Day) and Franchot. The film is slated to begin shooting in September in South Africa in partnership with Film Afrikka.
One Square Mile — Charles-Olivier Michaud (Snow & Ashes) directs a highly charged, emotional story of a disenfranchised teen living on the wrong side of the tracks. Producers are Howard Burd, Deborah Moore and Micah Sparks.
