LeAnn Rimes Enters Rehab for Anxiety Issues
The country singer will keep her weekend tour obligations throughout the 30-day program.
LeAnn Rimes has checked into rehab.
“LeAnn has voluntarily entered a 30-day in-patient treatment facility to cope with anxiety and stress,” a rep confirms to The Hollywood Reporter. “While there will be speculation regarding treatment, she is simply there to learn and develop coping mechanisms. While privacy isn’t expected, it’s certainly appreciated.”
While in treatment, Rimes has been granted permission to keep her weekend tour obligations, including an upcoming show in Riverside, Calif. on Sept. 12. She will check back into the facility after each weekend.
“LeAnn doesn’t want to disappoint her fans,”says her rep.
According to People, which first reported the news, Rimes checked into the facility on Wednesday, just days after celebrating her 30th birthday with husband Eddie Cibrian.
“This is just a time for me to emotionally check out for a second and take care of myself and come back in 30 days as the best 30-year-old woman I can be,” Rimes told People. “All the things in my life will be there when I get out, but you know what? I’m hoping they’re not going to affect me as much,” she continues. “I’ll have the tools to know how to deal with them.”
Rimes is currently readying her eleventh studio album, Spitfire, which is expected to debut later this year.
