Cleveland Cavaliers teammates also wear the shirt in solidarity and protest

NBA star LeBron James and several of his Cleveland Cavaliers teammates wore shirts that read "I Can't Breathe" before a Brooklyn game against the New York Nets on Monday night.

They wore the shirts in protest of a New York grand jury's recent decision not to indict the NYPD officer responsible for the choking death of Eric Garner.

Several NBA and NFL players were seen over the weekend in similar shirts with the same message in solidarity.

The Chicago Bulls' Derrick Rose wore one before Saturday's game against the Golden State Warriors. Detroit Lions running back Reggie Bush, St. Louis Rams offensive lineman Davin Joseph and Cleveland Browns cornerback Johnson Bademosi  sported similar shirts during their pregame warm-ups Sunday.
