Lena Dunham Buys $2.7 Million House Off Sunset Strip
Despite telling ‘Vogue’ last year that L.A. gives her “a very sad feeling.”
Should we be worried about Lena Dunham?
The Girls creator and star is buying a $2.7 million Greek revival off the Sunset Strip, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed, despite telling Vogue last year that Los Angeles is “ultimately not the right place for me”:
“I like Los Angeles, but more than two weeks and I start to get a very sad feeling,” Dunham said of the city where she spends a few weeks each fall editing and prepping her HBO comedy. “If I do start to feel at home here, someone should really worry about me.”
The three-bedroom house – built in 1919 on a corner lot, fully restored and featuring three covered porches and a saltwater pool – seems to have changed her mind about settling on the West Coast. It once was owned by The A-Team and Breakfast at Tiffany’s star George Peppard, according to the Los Angeles Times when the property first hit the market on Jan. 16. The sale to Dunham is still pending on the property, which is listed for $2.699 million by The Agency and was last sold for $835,000 back in 2003, according to public records.

Dunham’s previous real estate acquisitions are all in Brooklyn Heights: the $500,000 one-bedroom apartment she bought in 2012 and the $4.8 million four-bedroom condo she and boyfriend Jack Antonoff moved into in December.
